Good weekend... sorta

First of all, Metallica concert. I went to see them and Godsmack this Friday. They rocked. Enough said.

The rest of the weekend, I went with my dad to the lake, and helped him open the cabin for the summer. It was pretty rough, because his cancer meds are really taking a toll on his energy level, and I had to do a lot of it myself. We had to keep taking breaks because he'd get too tired.

On the upside, it was so beautiful up there. No one usually starts going up until after the long weekend, so it was very peaceful. Besides the hard work, it was great. Cold, but great. There was this raven that was flying about 30 meters up, but because it was so quiet and no wind, you could hear his wings going "whoosh, whoosh, whoosh" as he flew.

We've got plenty of squirrels this year. One enterprising young thing, decided that a good hiding spot for food, was behind the back door IN the cabin. I've now got a nice collection of dried mushrooms.

Saw deer that were literally posing at the highway. Too bad I didn't keep the camera handy. Saw a badger, and a muskrat too. What I did take a ton of pics, was of these beaver dams that I came across. This beaver, I swear to God, was a master engineer. I want this beaver to build me a house, it was that good. When I can, I'll get my dad to email me the pics to post. I didn't think to bring my own camera. *smack*.

Anyway, hope everyone had a good weekend.

The wings were massive, I thought it was someone swinging a slingshot when I heard the whooshing!

As long as they aren't the trees that make up my cabin, or the trees I painstakingly transplanted, it's all good.
