Eye update

So I went and had another post-op on Friday. Things are good, but they're not. On the upside, my eyes are healing well, and there were no complications. On the downside, both eyes have regressed, and I'll have to have a touch-up surgery in both eyes (which entails them scraping the flap off my eyeballs to relaser them), or wear glasses again with a lighter prescription. Neither appeals to me, but I'm going to have the surgery redone. Since they regressed relatively soon after the surgery, it won't cost me anything (Thank God!) They just have to wait for my vision to settle down and stop changing. I go in for another check-up in three months and hopefully it will be stable enough to book the surgery.

I haven't been updating as regularly because I've been really busy with trying to sort my shit out and purge the crap that I don't want to drag with me to the new place. It's hard, and somewhat emotional to let go of a lot of the baggage I've been carrying around with me for years, but it's also a bit of a relief too. It seems to be better if I do it in small spurts and then take a break. Right now, I'm procrastinating going through all my old school notes, text books, and light-reading books.

So much stuff, so little space.

I'm glad you aren't going to have to pay more to fix up your peepers.
G'luck. :D

Much support and hugs to you. Eye surgery is my biggest phobia.

In all honesty, it was completely worth it, even having to have it done again. It's been the most freeing and wonderful experience to not have to grope around for my glasses in the morning to see the alarm clock.

Well, that sounds like a positive thing, then.

My grandfather had cataracts and explained the procedure at length once, just so you don't think my phobia is out of the blue. :D

Oh no! I was the same way myself! They had to sedate me for the procedure because I was hyperventilating so much. I just had to keep the end goal in mind.

Do you think you'll ever get it done yourself?

Well, my vision is very good right now, but eye problems run in my family around age 50 or so. If it ever comes to the point where I need one, I would rather risk an accident and be able to see than not risk the accident and be sure to go blind.

I love going through my stuff and getting rid of all that I do not need or use. It is nice to be able to give things to others who may wish to have them. I am trying to become more of a minimalist but some days consumerism gets me to buy things to add to the clutter.

PS I am sorry to hear about the additional surgery. bummer.

Yeah, I think more of my stuff is actually going in the trash though :/ I've thrown out a colosal(sp?) amount of paper.
