A Whole Lot of Snow

Today we are in the middle of the worst blizzard I ever remember having. I cannot see across the street due to all the wind and snow. All I see it white outside. The snow is blowing sideways too, which doesn't happen very often.

They've shut down the university (which is almost unheard of), and a couple of the local malls. Jason went to work today, and so he's stuck at the University. I'm hoping he'll be able to make it home, but I'm betting it won't happen. The visibility is just too bad, and there's too many trucks jack-knifed across the road to allow buses to pass through. He's supposed to be trying to find a way home right now, but he hasn't called and I bet he won't. He'll probably try to use this as a good excuse to work late, the work-a-holic that he is.

I guess it's just gonna be me and the kid tonight. Hopefully he won't get too hungry or be too cold.

We went to Jason's family's house this past weekend. Alex had such a good time there playing with Grandma and Grandpa and her little cousin. This is the first time that she's really been aware of Madison and she followed her around like a little puppy; it was adorable!

The ride home was a bit scary as the wind and blowing snow were kind of insane, but we made it home safely.

While we were there (and we were only there for a couple of days), Alex perfected the art of crawling, started trying to balance while she was standing, started saying the word "ball" and plays patty cake. Oh yeah and she cut her front top right tooth, making it tooth #3! Quite a developmental leap for just a couple of days!

I think you must be about the only place getting snow this year...ok you and Denver. Still been pretty warm and fairly dry everywhere else.

It's funny, we've just had so much snow it's sickening!

I think we've overspent our snow removal budget by 100% already, and there's still at least another 3-4 snow months!

Other kids have a stong influence on the faster development of skills. being around other kids promotes both an eagerness to learn and an excel in the speed of learning.

This is why early child development is best achieved when you can get your kid into a "headstart" or early preschool.

Not that I am rushing you to do so, but it's something you should think about as soon as she is old enough to participate. Even just a few hours a day will be amazing for her learning growth. Competition, as you well know, is an awesome motivator.

Unfortunately I'll have to put her into daycare when I go back to work in a couple of weeks. Her sitter has two other boys that are about 2 years of age, so that should motivate her to get moving a bit ;)

Please tell me that it is moving east. They claimed on the weather that we where suppose to get the worst storm in 20 years but nothing has materialized, yet. It is snowing and blowing but nothing phenomenal or even out of the norm.

I don't know to be honest. I've been keeping my ears out, but no one's saying which way it's going... just that it's moving in from the north :/

So maybe we just got the edge of the storm.

Edges are good! Seriously!
