Baby Report

On Sunday, Alex was six months old. I can't believe it's been six months!

She suddenly started to sit up last week. Last week while we were gone, she also started trying to steal cups, plates, cuttlery, and anything on the plates. I still want to delay solids though, but on Sunday she reached out, grabbed a garlic dill pickle and started to suck on it. It appears she likes garlic dill pickle juice? I suppose I ought to get that high chair soon...

At her six month shots, she weight 18lbs, 8.5oz and was 26.5 inches long. That makes her 90th percentile for weight and 75th for height. She had her six month checkup today, and everything looks good, all organs sound normal, and her hips and knees are coming along nicely.

She gets mad at things now and she yells a lot. The last few days have been particularly hellish because she's not sleeping during her naps. After putting her down for a nap I find her flipped on her tummy and playing in her crib! Can anyone say overtired baby?

She is fascinated with the world, mom. How can you try to make her sleep when there is so much cool stuff to check out. Air; spit; baby gas. It's all the coolest stuff in the world!

She takes after mommy I guess, going by her stats.

And don't think I am telling you what to do, but get the baby some speghetti! Make sure you take pictures too. You don't have to replace milk, but you can mix up that diet some. I bet she sleeps better then.

Heh spag eh? I'll make it her first 9 month food ;)

Hehe mommy is pretty tiny actually... she takes more after daddy :P

I never thought of spaghetti... I recently learned that she'll have the enzymes for digesting starch by 9 months, so I'll try that food then :)

She's actually sleeping really well through the night, it's these naps that she's decided are optional :/

Kids get to the point where milk is just not enough. My kids got cereal in formula first but that didn't last long.
Yeah, spaghetti is a good one (all cut up or if they cough it comes out their nose and then you are laughing so hard you can't help them)

Overtired baby is very not good

Have fun and take pictures of the faces when Alex gets to try a new taste..... I had the most fun running around the house looking for things that would squoosh their faces up..... ok maybe a little too much fun

Yeah, they're recommending now that kids not start solids before six months, and some should even wait until up to 9 months to do it, if there's a history of allergies in teh family... which there is in mine.

I'm starting to be convinced that it's just a matter of teething problems right now :/

Hehe it's so cute, but annoying at the same time :P

I have to say though, she yells a lot more than she cries... something for which I'm grateful.
