On Monday I finally admitted it, I needed help. I called up my friend, Rachelle, and she came over yesterday. I told her I pretty much just needed someone to keep me on my feet; she could sip tea and whip me if she wanted, but I just needed someone to keep me motivated enough to get a start on the disaster that is my house.
She came, AND she helped to clean, which was totally awesome. The kitchen got cleaned. The living room got tidied. A lot of stuff got put away. It took the two of us several hours, which should give an idea of the state of my kitchen/living room. There's still more in the living room, but it's much more manageable.
In addition, last night I told Jason we HAD to get more storage, so we went to Home Depot and picked up some cube shelving for Alex's room. This will be fantastic, because her books are EVERYWHERE, and this will free up some much needed storage in my linen closet (where a lot of her books are for some reason).
In any event, I feel motivated. Now... on to tidying up Alex's room and putting the books in their new home!

I'm sitting here at my computer desk (which I can't actually see), trying to find the motivation to clean it up. I need some energy right now so badly...
Must. Get. Control. Of. Mess.
