Kitty update

So this is one strange story.

I go to the opthamologist who tells me that it's very rare for an indoor cat, who's about 11 years old, to get conjunctivitis (a fancy word that means inflammation in the eye area apparently) for no reason. The specialist being concerned, and also being out of the country for the next week or so, has decided that the best route to go is the following: Give the cat eyedrop antibiotics, and if she doesn't get better, then do more tests.

He said if she doesn't get better, then it's not bacterial, and it could be chlamydia (I think I totally butchered the spelling there) or herpes, or something else that sounded evil.

Who knew I had a promiscuous kitty who didn't use protection on my hands?

In the meantime, she's doing alright. The car ride home was very traumatizing, since we got about a foot of snow dumped on us, and everyone in the city forgot how to drive in the snow. It normally takes me 7 minutes to drive home. It took me 45 with poor Buzzer panicking, yowling and drooling in the back.

Stupid snow.

Holy crap, Buzzy could lose her eye over this? But she's had this recurring thing forever and it always gets better!

yeah, my mom's cat has eye-herpes and he is fine though she has to clean his eye every day. he has had it for years. no eye removal yet either.

Is there a yucky discharge from the eye that has to be cleaned out? I've noticed Buzzy's eye always looks like it's got guck in it, and I clean it just with my finger whenever I have the opportunity.

yup, that is it. my mom washes it out once a week too with saline. that sounds like the same thing. he got it when he was a kitten and lived on a farm.

My sister suffered from conjunctivitis, she wasn't promiscuous at the time though. It's quite nasty.

Chlamydia is rife amongst the under 25's, Buzzer shouldn't be doing naughties with young cats!!!

I know! Clearly she has been sneaking out while I'm at work. No wonder she hasn't been updating her lj lately!

Your cat had better not be doing the nasty with my cats.......well the straight one anyways.
Girly Boy thinks she's pretty but he likes a dominating tomcat not a pretty fluff ball.
Please warn Buzzer that Tiggy is French, that should keep her away.

I think she's been secretly getting it on with kittymichaels during the day. Just a suspicion though.

Naughty kitties could be having orgies while we work and we'd be none the wiser.

Nah then Buzzer wouldn't be sick via a webcam.

It could be virtual eye-herpes. That might explain everything then.

The Eyes Have It
My doggie has to have antibiotic eye drops every day and also lubricant for the eyes because of his dry eyes. Even though he is a doggie, he sends his best wishes to your cat.

Re: The Eyes Have It
This may be a dog worth knowing then.

Does he smell ok? I wouldn't mind a nice dog friend.
