Nostalgia at its best

On this fine evening, I find myself remembering my father and some of the good times we had together. They included listening to Roger Whittaker. I love his music - seriously love it. I've spent the last couple of hours listening to some of my favs on YouTube.

I figured (tonight anyway) I won't subject you all to my nostalgic memories. but I will post this one song, because it is seriously the most amazing whistling I have ever heard in my life.

As a young girl I always enjoyed Roger, my parents weren't big fans but I still get misty eyed when I hear the last farewell.
This whistling one is great, maybe that's why I liked him so much, I loooove whistling along with the music almost more than singing.
I can see little Shar listening to this. <3

The Last Farewell was the special song with Dad and I, and it was to that song that I danced with him at my wedding.

I was just listening to it on youtube and realized how I might have triggered something.
I apologize if so.
It's a special song to me though I don't share it with anyone.
Except now I've got the extra memory of you and your Dad that will replay every time I hear the song.

Hehe no no. That was one of the songs to which I was listening on repeat :P I just figured I would post this one, first of all because it's extremely cool, and secondly because it makes me feel kinda happy and uplifted. It's a happy song :P

Definitely impressive. We should meet sometime, that I might demonstrate my own whistling, which rivals his.

No kidding! Are you very musical? You must be quite musical if your whistling can rival his!

I am the only person I have ever met who whistles through his teeth. Most do not. I have a trill technique that is similar to Roger's, but it requires the use of a finger. I am stumped as to how he achieves it. Otherwise, our whistling is even.

I am musical, but I do not highlight this fact, as it is third on my list, after writing and visual art. I whistle much of the time, and unconsciously, such that I have even got into arguments with my wife, who will tell me I was whistling while I insist I was not.

There was another You Tube video I saw last night where he was telling people how he whistled. It was really interesting. I would love to hear you whistle :)

Yup, a very talented man. I wonder why that sort of thing isn't popular anymore?
