Meh - Poor kitty

Buzzer pissed on Jason and I again last night. She's been acting odd the last week or so too, so I'm convinced she's sick again (or still).

Jason took her into the vet this morning, and they took another urine sample - this time to culture. They want to get a specific strain of bacteria (if she has another urinary tract infection) so they can make sure she gets on the right antibiotics. If this doesn't work, we're going to x-ray her to make sure it's not a crystal/blockage/tumour thing going on.

They're calling me this afternoon to confirm if there are cells in her urine (meaning urinary tract infection). If that's the case, the culture will begin, and we'll know what meds she needs to be on in a couple of days.

I'm having enough trouble sleeping let alone being woken up lying in cat piss :(

26 days until maternity leave starts.

If you haven't already placed your bet on the new baby, go now!

Aww the poor Kitty. have they recommended a diet for her to help with this? Our zoo eats science diet now. Their box smells less now too. <3 Worth the money.

Hope all is well, at least she knows how to get your attention!! Most cats kide in dark places when they are sick, she does the direct approach! "Mahh it's burning.. look!"

Re: hmph
They did recommend a different type of cat food, but she's so picky she won't eat it... and considering she starved herself for so long due to picky eating (losing 30% of her body weight), I don't think I want to take a gamble.

Awww, I was hoping the last vet's visit cleared her up. I can only imagine how nice it must be to wake up covered in cat piss. My god, like you really need that.

The timing is less than ideal... that's for sure!

Symone did this every time I was pregnant. She would cover my sleeping scent with her own. It stopped once the babies were born.

Just a thought...

Hmm. This is an interesting though. I mean I had considered it, but yeah...

well if that's the case, only a few more weeks to go!

Not to take away from the sick cat idea, but maybe she can sense the presence of an uknown living in the house. By that, I mean the baby. It may seem silly, but many tests have shown that many domesticated animals and a large number of infants can sense changes in the environment, even when the changes aren't readily seen.

Not to say she Buzzer isn't sick, but the repeated ailments could come from a stress level acquired from sensing the baby and not being able to actually check the little bugger out.

How does she usually act when you have company over for a few days? Does the change in her territory seem to cause her beahvior to change? Just curious. You know, I have 10 credit hours to go until graduation, so I am in a strong psyche mode right now. Sorry.

Her behaviour is definitely off. Granted, it did start to change when I got pregnant... she became far more needy and snuggly than she previously had been... but just looking at her behaviour the last few weeks, something's not right.

She's mopy, and has become a lap kitty, needing constant attention (which we are giving to her). She's also eating tons of food, but losing weight. Sleeping far more than usual. And in the last few days, has started to hang out more downstairs away from us, and is doing some isolating. I know there's something wrong. I just don't know what.

ooh, no. Not again. That is the last thing you need while trying to rest. What with, I am sure, how many frequent bathroom visits keeping you awake, as well!

On the other hand, poor kitty...

Honestly, I'm more concerned about the cat right now than my rest. Although that might change if things don't improve soon.
